‘Dinner’ at LLT

From December 6 to 15, Lakeside Little Theatre will present the third production of its 60th season, “Dinner,” a dark, satirical thriller depicting a hilarious but ultimately shocking dinner party from hell, written by award-winning playwright Moira Buffini.

“Dinner” premiered two decades ago at the National Theatre in London and was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best Comedy. The play offers a unique evening of entertainment, humor and, perhaps, an invitation to examine one’s own self-perception. The Guardian called the work, “Delicious bad-taste comedy.”

Tickets at Lakesidelittletheatre.com.

Celebrate Sinatra’s birthday

Frank Sinatra passed away in 1998, and this year would have marked his 109th birthday, had he lived.

2024 also marks Niños Incapacitados 50th anniversary, making it the oldest charity at Lakeside.  Fans of “Ol’ Blue Eyes” won’t want to miss the annual Frank Sinatra fundraiser for Niños Incapacitados, set for Thursday, December 12, 5:30 p.m. at El Bar Co. Tickets, costing 600 pesos, include free entry into a door prize drawing for various prizes, including a bottle of Jack Daniel’s, courtesy of El Bar Co. A Frank Fun Facts trivia contest can also win you prizes.

Elmo James, lead singer for the Traficantes Rock ’n’ Latin band and The Romeos, will command the microphone and sing songs made famous by Sinatra. In between, D.J. Carlos will play more of his songs.

Dinners and drinks can be purchased at the event. El Bar Co. will offer a “Sinatra Special” (Jack Daniels on the rocks), perhaps the singer’s favorite drink, for 100 pesos.

Mix, mingle, eat and drink. Limited food menu, full bar. Tickets available at www.programaninos.com.

All proceeds to to Niños.
