City’s open-air light show draws huge crowds

Thousands of lovey-dovey couples, families and seniors wandered or waited patiently in the balmy air on Valentine’s Day for the first of five resplendent evenings that celebrate Guadalajara’s 475th birthday along a nine-block promenade that includes downtowns’s fountains, pools, sculptures and architectural treasures.

'Condors' – Japanese male dance troupe to perform at Alarife Casillas Theater

Ryohei Kondo’s famous Japanese contemporary male dance group, Condors, has toured 20 countries since its foundation in 1996. Nonetheless, audiences outside of Japan never fail to be blown away by the uniqueness of their exuberant presentations, that overflow with a combination of athletic prowess, choreographic creativity and humor. 

Entertainment Guide – February 11, 2017

Cadenza Festival

The Festival Internacional Cadenza at Palcco runs in conjunction with the Ajijic Northern Lights Music Festival, and features four concerts with talented Canadian, U.S. and Mexican musicians. Sunday, February 12, 6 p.m.: Gala concert with festival’s string orchestra interpreting works by Britten, Barber and Quantz.  Monday, February 13, 8:30 p.m.: Susan Hoeppner plays Mozart, Bloch, M.C. Baker and Reger.
