‘Tis the season to be jolly and in case you haven’t noticed, lakeside is already on a roll.

If you look around, one thing you’ll see is that there’s no War on Christmas going on around here. Amid the holiday shopping hubbub and glittery decorations, there are unmistakable signs that people here hold strong to the reason for the season.

From business establishments to government buildings, public spaces to private homes, the community is virtually teeming with nativity scenes of varied dimensions, materials and designs.   

The focal point of El Nacimiento is the stable scene where María (Mary) and José (Joseph) huddle over a manger, surrounded by the ox, the ass and other barnyard animals, and protected by the Christmas angel. Other principal components include the Magi with their traditional mounts, along with shepherds and their flocks.
