Birdwatching enthusiasts and serious birders alike may want to head to Puerto Vallarta next weekend for the 2025 Vallarta Bird and Nature Festival, taking place at the Vallarta Botanical Garden on Sunday, February 23, from 7:30 a.m. to mid-afternoon.
The event kicks off at 7:30 a.m. with guided bird tours, nature walks, craft activities for kids, and contests, followed by a series of presentations:
• 10 a.m. – Birdwatching Opportunities for Women by Amazilias
• 10:30 a.m. – Birding with Ric (photo presentation) by Ric Chamblee
• 11:30 a.m. – Musings of a Migratory Bird(er): Lessons Learned in a Lifetime of Teaching About Birds and Birding by keynote speaker Mark Stackhouse
• 12:30 p.m. – The Macaw Sanctuary by Francisco Espino and Conservation of the Wonderful Species of Bahía de Banderas, A.C. by Selene Barba
Tickets for this special event are 300 pesos for adults (ages 11 and up) and 150 pesos for children (ages 5-10). They can be purchased online at www.vbgardens.org.
The Vallarta Botanical Garden, a leading conservation organization in Mexico for over 19 years, is dedicated to studying, preserving, and showcasing native Mexican plants for the education and enjoyment of both locals and international visitors. Spanning 135 hectares, the sanctuary is home to at least 200 bird species.
