New Canadian Consul pays a friendly call at LCS

Canadian consular officials from Guadalajara led an interactive meeting with local residents Wednesday, November 9 at the Lake Chapala Society, offering a wealth of information useful to international travelers and citizens living abroad.

pg15bConsul and Senior Trade Commissioner Frank Le opened the gathering with brief introductory remarks giving the audience an outline of his background in the diplomatic service. He reflected on fond memories of his first experience in Mexico 20 years ago when he hitchhiked around the country after completing graduate studies in California. More recently he spent a year preparing to take up his current position in Guadalajara after serving in prior posts in India and China.

Consular officer Diana Haro then took over at the podium to give around 30 Canadians present at the event a rundown on the services available to Canadian citizens through the embassy in Mexico City, nine branch offices elsewhere in the country, and via Internet.
