Chinese online fashion giant installs pop up in Andares

Shein, the Chinese online fast fashion retailer, is installing a pop-up store in the Andares Mall zone in Zapopan from Thursday, December 15 though Sunday, December 18.

Shein is currently testing out the physical shopping environment at different places around the globe, having started in London in October with a two-day event that the company considered ta success.

“Pop-ups allow our customers to experience the product and brand in a physical space, to enhance their overall shopping experience,”the company’s chief creative officer told the Charged website.

Valued around $US100 billion, Shein has, however, attracted plenty of controversy. Writes Charged: “Despite its unparalleled popularity, Shein remains shrouded in mystery, with limited detail about the company known by the general public. Perhaps partly as a result of this lack of information and visibility, the company has been rocked by numerous accusations of worker exploitation, harmful environmental practices, lack of supply chain transparency and more.”

The pop up can be found on the third floor of the Lobby 33 mall, Avenida Patria 1891. It will open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
