St. Mark’s Anglican/Episcopal church in Guadalajara, after holding a Saturday Easter egg coloring party, plans a regal Palm Sunday Mass April 13, 11 a.m., It starts in the garden, followed by a procession into the chapel, led by the Rev. Dr. Joel Muñoz, with a grand choral accompaniment.
A special late afternoon Maundy Thursday Mass is set for April 17, 5:30 p.m. It includes a foot washing ceremony and special choral music by a six-member choir.
Good Friday will be honored April 18 at noon.
Easter, as always, will be celebrated with a solemn Mass and exceptional choral music. It is set for April 20, 11 a.m. St. Mark’s choir, directed by Debra Matthew and with the renowned Ana Silvia Guerrero on organ, will be joined by other professional musicians—several singers from the Coro del Estado de Jalisco, to make a choir of ten. Highlight are Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus” and several other classical pieces and favorite hymns.
Easter Mass is followed by an egg hunt in the garden. Children are cordially invited to participate. Coffee and refreshments will be served.
