Air Canada officially inaugurated its new Guadalajara–Toronto route on Wednesday morning, marking the launch of three weekly nonstop flights between the two cities.
The addition of this route strengthens Guadalajara International Airport’s growing network of connections to Canada. It joins existing routes operated by other airlines, including Flair Airlines’ Guadalajara–Vancouver service, launched last year, and Air Transat’s upcoming Montreal–Guadalajara route, set to begin in December with two weekly flights.

“Air Canada is a flag carrier, and that makes a huge difference,” said Michelle Fridman Hirsch, Jalisco’s Secretary of Tourism. “It connects us with other continents and greatly boosts our cargo potential.”
With this new service, Guadalajara now offers nonstop connections to Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, and soon Montreal — Canada’s four main air hubs.
Fridman added that Jalisco authorities are also in discussions with several European airlines about potential routes. “We’re in talks with about five carriers. These processes take time — often years — but we have good news coming for both Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta,” she said.
She also noted the success of Aeroméxico’s Guadalajara–Madrid route and confirmed that talks are underway to increase flight frequencies or add new destinations in Europe.
