Hijos Ausentes de Chapala-Los Cabos and Carreras Chapala are sponsoring Carnaval Run 2025, a race series for children and adolescents, scheduled for Tuesday, March 4, starting at 8 a.m. at the Chapala Malecón.
The competition is open to 300 youngsters, ages 4 to 15, who will be divided into six categories. Distances range from 150 meters for 4- and 5-year-olds to two kilometers for those in the 14-15 age group. The aim of the event is to encourage physical activity among children and create a foundation for future athletes.
Registration is free. Participants can enroll in advance by calling or sending a WhatsApp message to 33-1354-2790, or they can register on the day of the event, an hour before the race begins, at the Jesús Pescador walkway.
All participants will receive a medal and a commemorative T-shirt. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category.
Additionally, Chapala’s 4th Annual Carrera de la Mujer is scheduled for Sunday, March 9, in honor of International Women’s Day. The main event is a five-kilometer race with two divisions: one for girls ages 13-17 and another for women 18 and older. There will also be a 100-meter race for children ages 9-12 and a one-kilometer walk for senior women.
The 100-peso registration fee includes a participant bib, a medal, a T-shirt, and a hydration beverage.
