A special attraction of the World Cup festivities sponsored by the Chapala government is the giant Ferris Wheel installed at the entrance to the Jesús Pescador Bridgeway on the eastern leg of the Malecón.
The whirling “Roue de Soleil” structure measuring about 35 meters in height was manufactured in Italy and is operated in Mexico by Atracciones Roca.
Passengers can enjoy magnificent views of Lake Chapala during regular hours Monday through Friday, 5 to 10 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, noon to 10 p.m., with free rides offered Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday between 5 and 7 p.m.
