The Mexican Tree Climbing Championship (Campeonato Mexicano de Trepa de Árboles) is set to take place in Puerto Vallarta from February 5-8. This competition showcases participants’ skills in climbing trees using various techniques and equipment.
Tree climbing competitions typically consist of a series of timed events and challenges designed to test a climber’s agility, speed and precision. The events simulate real-world working conditions faced by arborists, assessing their ability to maneuver professionally and safely while performing essential tree-care tasks.
Male and female competitors will take part in five key events, including Aerial Rescue and Work Climb, each evaluating their technical proficiency, efficiency, and safety while working in trees.
The International Tree Climbing Championship, originally known as the ISA Tree Climbers Jamboree, was first held in 1975 in Atascadero, California. Since its inception, the competition has played a pivotal role in revolutionizing tree-climbing gear and advancing the tree care industry. By bringing together users and manufacturers, it has led to a surge in specialized innovations and products, improving industry safety standards worldwide.
The competition will take place on Avenida Fluvial Vallarta, near Costco. For full details, visit arboricultura.mx/cmta.
