Jalisco’s rainwater harvesting program (Nidos de Lluvia) will be expanded in 2025 with the installation of 3,300 new systems across the same number of homes, announced Ernesto Marroquín Álvarez, secretary of Integrated Water Management.
Since its launch in 2021, the program has facilitated the installation of over 15,000 systems in 117 neighborhoods across 14 municipalities in Jalisco. The systems collect and store rainwater for future use, reducing reliance on municipal water supplies.
