“The only constant in life is change.” (Heraclitus.)

We humans are hard-wired to prefer consistency, but maintaining consistency in our lives is impossible. Change happens. Sometimes change is good; sometimes it’s a wrench thrown in the works. Sometimes we come out of it for the better; sometimes we come out of it tired and disillusioned.

Lake Chapala Baptist

Pastor John Linton says: “We met last Sunday on April 5, but will not meet Sunday, April 19, as instructed by the government this weekend. We hope things will change in our area and the rest of Mexico rapidly. We have remained vigilant and careful in our meetings. We yearn to be obedient to God, but are instructed to obey the authorities and to pray for them and so we will await further instruction from the government. We will also be posting Easter and other devotions until we reopen.” Recent sermons can be found at the following link: youtube.com/channel/UCV6Quu3BjBf740MZ-eNS97A.

Lakeside Community

Fellowship

People contemplate what’s happening in the world today and ask, “If there is a God, why doesn’t He do something?” It’s obvious that there’s injustice, abuse of power, inequity, suffering, disease and rampant sin in all parts of the world. How can these things be if indeed the God of heaven is all-powerful and perfectly good? Sin, violence and wrong doing are everywhere, yet the heavens are silent. The unbeliever appeals to this fact as proof that the Christian’s God is but a myth.  But the Christian believer finds that this fact is further proof that the God he or she worships is simply patient and long-suffering. Patient because He is eternal, time is not an issue with God. Long-suffering because He is omnipotent, He has absolute power. Psalm 50:3 says, “Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent.” That is not a matter of opinion but of faith. The fact that God will act to rectify all unrighteousness is stated throughout the Scriptures. The unknowns are when and how He will do it. This is an essential truth of the Christian faith. The only real question is, “Are you a believer?”

Join us Sunday morning at www.lakesidecommunityfellowship.com (sermons) for an uplifting Easter message.
