Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Lake Chapala Community Orchestra has been unable to rehearse or perform since March.
Behind the scenes, however, it has been active in an initiative to raise much needed funds for Musica para Crecer.
Musica para Crecer (also known as the Orquesta y Coro Filarmonica Infantil de la Ribera de Chapala) was formed in San Juan Cosala in 2013 with the aim of providing underprivileged children aged from five to 18 an opportunity to learn a musical instrument and sing. The idea was to achieve this within a setting of encouragement, positivity and a sense of community belonging.
