Lakeside Presbyterian

This Sunday, February 12, Pastor Carolyn will say, “We Need To Talk.”

This week’s sermon is about the first letter of Paul to the Corinthian church. The apostle Paul loved the Corinthian followers of Jesus deeply—but they had been making some terrible mistakes. He showed his love for them by not letting them get away with any of it. He gently corrected them—and we can learn from his loving instruction about how we ought to relate to each other, build each other up, and live in unity.

English-language service begins at 9:30 a.m. Spanish service begins 11 a.m.. Everyone is welcome to the drop-in Bible study Wednesday, 10 a.m.

The English service also streams each Sunday at facebook.com/LPCChapala.

If you need a ride, or more information, call 376-106-0853, Thursday, before 4 p.m.

There is coffee and refreshments after the service in the Narthex.

LPC is at Calle San Jorge 250 in Riberas del Pilar, (turn lakeside at Mom’s Restaurant).

Lake Chapala Baptists

Sermon: “A Shortage Of Godly Men,” from Philippians 2:21 For everyone looks out for their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.

Last Sunday, our Pastor brought us a story about a church with only one door. Over it is mounted a plaque, “Servant’s Entrance.” The only way in or out of that sacred place is by being a servant.

“All those who reside within the body of the Church serve God, each according to their own calling,” he said. “We are all blood-bought servants of Jesus Christ. But because we are selfish by nature, we must cultivate a servant’s heart, centered on the Lord and His will for us. Your service might be donating to an orphanage; imagine how that could change a child’s life forever. Or you may be called to warn the wayward, ministering to their fundamental need to hear the gospel.

“A servant of Christ’s aim is to be available to his Master for any calling. Could you, like Paul, be willing to sacrifice anything, even your own life, in order to serve God? A servant’s heart must be constantly captivated by Christ. Are you captivated?

“Being Christian is not for sissies. At the end of your days, will you be able to say, It is sufficient that I have served the Lord? Live for Christ; serve Christ; be captivated by Christ and receive the servant’s honor. The way is narrow, and there is only one entrance, the servant’s entrance.”

Share memorable weekly sermons, uplifting music, and an ongoing thirst for true wisdom Sundays, 10:45 a.m. at the Lake Chapala Baptist Church. Sta. Margarita 147, Riberas del Pilar. LCBC’s bilingual services are Sunday, 4:30 p.m.
