Artists group regenerated
A new group to replace the defunct Artists Alliance of Lake Chapala and Ajijic Society of the Arts is taking shape under a new name and development of a revised format.
The next generation bilingual title Artists of Lake Chapala/Artistas del Lago de Chapala (ALC) was confirmed at a meeting held on Monday, May 6. The decision was based on responses to a six-point survey that was conducted last month among interested parties.
For the time being, future in-person ALC meetings are scheduled for the first Monday of each month, 11 a.m., at La Bodega restaurant. The next date is June 3.
Artist socials are continuing of the third Thursday of the month, with the next event set for May 23, 4 to 6 p.m., at Membrillo Restaurante, Calle Marcos Castellanos 24 at the corner of Zaragoza. Painters, sculptors, photographers, graphic, textile and mixed media artists and writers are welcome to attend.
