Weekly Worship - March 28, 2026

Unitarian Universalist Fellowship

Rev. D’Vorah Kelley and Joyce Kinnear with musician Wiley Beveridge present “Spring Equinox” at the Lake Chapala Unitarian Universalist Fellowship on Sunday, March 22, at its noon service.

The Earth is forever turning, bringing us the seasons. Join us to celebrate the arrival of Spring through song, readings and meditation at this Spring Equinox. The equinoxes were seen as times of balance, beauty, and renewal. The spring equinox was associated with abundance and wholeness. For ancient peoples, these moments marked the transition between seasons and symbolized harmony between light and dark. Victor Hugo said that, “The equinox is nature’s truce, a momentary pause before spring unfolds its radiant tapestry.”

All services of the Lake Chapala Unitarian Universalist Fellowship are held at noon at St. Andrews Anglican Church, San Lucas 19, Riberas de Pilar. For more information: lcuuf.org.

Common Ground Fellowship Little Chapel by the Lake

The New Testament word for church, ekklesia, never referred to a place, but always to a people. For the first 250 years of the faith, the church owned no real estate at all. The believers met in houses and grew by leaps and bounds. This Sunday, Dr. Wayne Cook will look at Scripture to see what the church is in his continuing series on What We Believe.

CGFLC is a bilingual, friendly, and all-inclusive place to worship our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We believe the church exists primarily for the benefit of those outside it as we seek to make Christ’s love known to others by serving our community in a feeding ministry and various other forms of aid. Additionally, we gladly accept donations of clothing and non-perishable food items that go directly to families in need in our purple donation box in front of the Chapel. Among our missions, we also host Saturday’s car wash fundraiser for Mama Cleo’s boys' home from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each week, and we have a Saturday outreach to the poorer kids in Chapala.

We have a time of singing on Sundays at 9 a.m. and prayer time at 10 a.m. Our main worship service begins at 11 a.m. and includes a children’s church. During the week, Belva Velazquez teaches a Bible Study on Building a Bold Witness on Wednesday evenings at 5 p.m. And for the next several weeks on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. Dr. Ted Rogers teaches a class on prayer through the Chapala Theological Seminary.

Lake Chapala Baptist

At the close of the age described in the Book of Daniel 12, the world passes through a time of distress unlike any before, yet heaven is not silent. Michael the Archangel rises to stand for God’s people, guarding them while the earth trembles beneath its final trial. Then the dust of the ground begins to stir, and those who sleep awaken — some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. The wise shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness sparkle like stars forever. Though the precise hour remains sealed, the promise stands unshaken: beyond history’s turmoil, God will judge evil, deliver the faithful, and grant them their eternal inheritance in the kingdom that will never fade.
