Lakeside Presbyterian

What if you could have everything you’ve ever wanted … and it still weren’t enough?

In Ecclesiastes 2, the Teacher sets out to find happiness wherever it can be found: success, wealth, pleasure, even wisdom itself. And after testing it all, he reaches a sobering conclusion: none of it delivers lasting meaning. If you’ve ever wondered why achievement doesn’t satisfy the way you thought it would… or why “just a little more” never seems to be enough… this message is for you.

Sunday, May 10, at 10 a.m. Rev. Carolyn Hanen we continues with the series: “Everything Is Never Enough: Wisdom, Pleasure, Power.”

English-language service is at 10 a.m. at Constitución 26, in Ajijic, 2nd floor. Enter through the back garage area and walk upstairs. For those with limited mobility, there’s also a small elevator at the front. Join us for coffee and refreshments after the service.

If you are unable to attend in person, join us live on Facebook at lpcchapala or on YouTube at @lpcchapala.

Lake Chapala Baptist

In the shadow of death, we once wandered—breathing but not alive, chasing the pull of a broken world and calling it home. But God, rich in mercy and overflowing in love, stepped into our ruin and spoke life where silence reigned. By grace, not effort; by gift, not earning—He raised us with Christ and seated us in hope. We are His workmanship, shaped by His hand for good works already prepared, paths beneath our feet. Where division once ruled, Christ became peace—breaking walls, healing distances, creating a dwelling place where He chooses to live.

English worship service is Sunday at 10:45 a.m. with Pastor Dan Klassen. English-language Bible study are Sundays at 9:30 a.m. and Tuesdays at 10 a.m. Choir practice is on Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to noon. Santa Margarita 147, Riberas de Pilar. Unitarian Universalist

Rev. Matt Alspaugh presents “Living the Questions” at the Sunday, May 10, noon service of the Lake Chapala Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.

What are the questions you live with? How do you cope with the lack of answers, with uncertainty, and doubt? Many people “find religion” because they are uncomfortable with those unanswered questions, they want certainty, some form of truth. Many others ‘lose religion’ because they realize that the answers they were given don’t really work for them, so they’d rather just live the questions. Many of us in this congregation are like that. So, how do you live the questions? How do you dwell with not knowing? How do you inhabit this very contingent, uncertain world? We may not be able to answer these for you, but we hope to leave you more comfortable with the questions.

The Service Associate is Priscilla Taylor.

All services of the Lake Chapala Unitarian Universalist Fellowship are held at San Lucas 19, Riberas de Pilar. For more information: lcuuf.org. Services are broadcast live. The link for the Zoom service is https://us02web.zoom.us/j/233941792.
