Guadalajara-born Mariana Vigueras, a versatile singer acclaimed for her strong voice and broad artistry, will emulate elite singer Celine Dion at a 3 p.m. outdoor show Monday, May 25, in the gardens of the Lake Chapala Society (LCS).
This special performance will benefit Niños Incapacitados, a local, 50-year-plus-old nonprofit volunteer group. It helps government-qualified Lakeside area Mexican families pay major medical expenses for children with major disabilities or life-threatening illnesses, from brain cancer to strokes to severe disabilities.
VIP tickets are 600 pesos for cocktail table seating on LCS’s tree-covered back lawn; general tickets are 400 pesos. Tickets are available at the Niños Incapacitados website at programaninos.com. Tickets are unavailable at LCS or at the door.
Celine Dion is widely known beyond her Canadian roots as the “Queen of Power Ballads.” She has sold more than 200 million recordings, received five Grammys and headlined record-breaking tours and Las Vegas residences.
Vigueras has performed Celine Dion songs for years in Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta. Classically trained, she also has appeared on major Mexican television and radio networks. Critics have called her performances “absolutely unforgettable … she can really hit the high notes.”
