HU Chant
Chanting HU, an ancient name for the Divine, while in a contemplative state, is a simple technique to open your heart to greater happiness, love, inner peace and understanding. Join in Saturday March 5, 10:30 a.m., at the Center for Spiritual Living located at Nicholas Bravo 17, Ajijic, for a short (30 minutes) group HU Chant followed by refreshments and fellowship time. Anyone driving by the Villa Infantil Orphanage these days may hear strains of the song “Doe a deer, a female deer, Ray a drop of golden sun,” as the children practice for this year’s luncheon fundraiser at Las Caballerizas in the Raquet Club.
The 10th annual Lake Chapala Shrine Club (LCSC) Rib Fest was a resounding success, with more than 600 hungry diners turning out last Wednesday at the Cumbres Jardin de Eventos to tuck into Chef Tony Andalon’s sumptuous barbecue buffet. Aside from sending guests home with full tummies, the organizers have replenished their coffers for a noble cause.
Entertainment galore will keep things jumping as the 38th annual Mexican National Chili Cookoff fires up for its Friday, February 26 through Sunday, February 28 run at the Tobolandia water park in Ajijic.
It was a long, hard haul, but the Lakeside Assistance Group and Canada’s Firefighters Without Borders have done it again, putting together their second shipment of second-hand outfits and equipment for donation to fire fighters in 40 Jalisco communities.
