Open Circle
A Panel Presentation, “To Whom I May Concern: Living with Memory Changes,” takes place at the next meeting of Open Circle, Sunday, July 6, 10:30 a.m. at the Lake Chapala Society.Trained facilitator Elly Contreras will guide a group of Lakeside seniors in sharing their experiences with aging and memory loss. The first such performance of this work (in Mexico) was held in April and the cast is reprising their presentation for Open Circle. Companion presenter Alicia Knox will generate a real-time creative recounting of these experiences and share with the audience how the onset of memory loss is witnessed by those experiencing this challenge.
Centro Educativo Jaltepec
Carole Baker and Linda Buckthorp stepped down from their roles as newsletter editor and facilitator, respectively, at Centro Educativo Jaltepec as of July 1. Linda served for over 25 years, during which time, thanks to her vision and attention to detail, the number of students receiving full scholarships grew from two to 18 annually.
Chapala Birders
Tuesday, July 15, meet team leader Thomas Bravo at 7:30 a.m. at the sculpture in La Floresta, departing immediately for Villa Corona on Lake Atotonilco (a 60-minute drive). Expect to see various shore birds, such as the white-faced ibis and roseate spoonbill. Bring your own mid-morning refreshments. There will be a snack break at 11 a.m. Return to Ajijic by about 1:30 p.m.

Democrats Abroad rally
Join fellow U.S. citizens at the July Peaceful & Respectful Rally in Ajijic Thursday, July 17, 10 to 11 a.m. at the sculpture in La Floresta, in front of Pranzo Restaurant. This Hands Off! “sidewalk rally” is in solidarity with thousands of rallies around the world, including multiple locations in Mexico.
Lakeside Freethinkers
The monthly meeting of the Lakeside Freethinkers will be held via Zoom on Thursday, July 17, at 4 p.m.
Former LF Chair, Chad Olsen, will explore the topic of “Logical Fallacies,” which are errors in reasoning made by using faulty premises to draw incorrect conclusions. Participants will hear how to improve their critical thinking skills to evaluate claims and to identify misleading arguments.

The Feria Maestros del Arte will be held for the second year at the Hotel Real de Chapala, Novem-ber 7 to 9. Organizers are looking for hosts for the Mexican artists coming from the length and breadth of Mexico.
