Chapala marked the commemoration of the Dia de la Marina (Navy Day) with a traditional ceremony held early Monday, June 1 at the waterfront Malecon. Local Luis Jorge Ochoa presided at the event, accompanied by Mayor Joaquin Huerta and Bernardo Gutierrez Navarro, head of the Jalisco headquarters for the Federal Ministry of Communications and Transport.
Ajijic’s waterfront Malecon will be the setting for the second annual Festival del Papalote (Kite Fest) from Friday, May 29 through Sunday, May 31.
