My name is Terry Vidal, and I am announcing my candidacy for president of the Lake Chapala Society (LCS).  I have applied to the LCS nominating committee to have my name placed on the ballot.

Following the loss of Tepehua Centro Comunitario founder Moonie King, the last six months have indeed been a challenge. Nonetheless, the center moves on with Moonie’s vision in mind.

As a schoolboy growing up in England, I learned the rudiments of U.S. history. How the British government considered the Boston Tea Party an act of treason. How it escalated into the American Revolution that eventually overthrew the King, and how George Wahington, the first president of the republic, reputably never told a lie.

After this year’s Lake Chapala Society AGM held in March, several members told me they wished I could have spent more time talking about the future. I fully agree.
