Back in February, the Los Angeles Dodgers announced that it would be retiring the No. 34 jersey of legendary Mexican pitcher Fernando Valenzuela.
This has been scheduled during a three-day (August 11-13) celebration of Valenzuela’s contribution to the team, when the Dodgers host the Colorado Rockies.
Valenzuela was part of two of the Dodgers World Series champion teams and won both the 1981 Rookie of the Year and Cy Young awards.
He was also a six-time All-Star during his 11 seasons at Los Angeles between 1980 and 1990.
