Jalisco Governor Enrique Alfaro last week welcomed (now) Frente Amplio por Mexico (FAM) presidential candidate Xóchitl Gálvez to the state Government Palace for what he termed a “social visit.”
Alfaro has always favored his party, the Citizens Movement (MC), joining the FAM coalition, and does not agree with his national leadership’s decision to run a separate candidate—with little chance of winning.
So disillusioned has Alfaro become with the MC leadership that soon after his meeting with Galvez, he announced he would be having nothing more to do with his party, and will concentrate solely on completing his term of office next year.
