Amazon Mexico has announced plans to open a second major distribution center in the Guadalajara metropolitan area (ZMG) later this year.
The company said it aims to expedite deliveries and expand its reach across the country. Since 2015, Amazon has invested US$5.4 billion in Mexico, opening 13 shipping centers and 25 delivery stations in 12 states, and creating 10,000 direct and 40,000 indirect jobs. Over the Christmas holidays, Amazon Mexico hired 5,800 temporary staff.
