Lake on fast track recuperation

Lake Chapala’s rainy season period of recuperation is off to a rip-roaring start this year, with a 30-centimeter rise in the water level registered over ten days during the second half of June.

Local voters go to polls July 1

Jalisco’s registered voters will go to the polls Sunday, July 1 to elect Mexico’s next president, a new state governor, Senators and Deputies to sit in federal chambers, representatives in the state legislature and mayors and councilors for 125 municipal governments. Voting hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Ricardo Anaya campaigns in Chapala

Presidential candidate Ricardo Anaya turned up unannounced in Chapala Friday, June 15, appearing first at a huge rally held near the waterfront Malecón in support of Jalisco’s Movimiento Ciudadano (MC) gubernatorial contender Enrique Alfaro, local mayoral aspirant Moisés Anaya and other District 17 candidates.
