Immigration chief favors do-it-yourself transactions
Officials at the Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM) are the authorized agents responsible for handling the immigration matters of foreign citizens, says Ricardo Vera Lira, chief of the agency’s regional headquarters in Guadalajara. Stressing that personnel under his command are fully qualified to serve clients - without the intervention of independent intermediaries - he advises immigrants and foreign visitors to “do your own {trámites} (procedures) and deal directly with INM officials.”
