'Jalisco Sings' festival in GDL & Chapala

The fourth edition of the Festival Internacional Jalisco Canta, is branching out this year, taking in Chapala, Lagos de Moreno, Mazamitla and Amacueca, as well as Guadalajara.

Set from July 12 to 20, the festival showcases choral music, sung a capello by a 14 groups, this year hailing from Mexico, Cuba, Venezuela and Uruguay.

“We want the public to appreciate the versatility of the human voice, which can substitute any instrument,” said Ileana Gueche, director and founder of the festival.

The festival opens on Saturday, July 13 at the Degollado Theater and closes at the Teatro Diana on Saturday, July 20. Tickets for these performances are from 80 to 180 pesos, while most of the other events are free of charge.

In between, a range of performances are scheduled in performance spaces ranging from theaters, museums, public plazas and shopping malls.
