Degollado to dance to rhythms of Beatles tribute band/JPO combo

Enrique Radillo, the Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra’s administrative director, takes up the baton this weekend at the Degollado for a special concert featuring unforgettable music from Liverpool’s Fab Four – The Beatles.

On stage with the orchestra will be Quinteto Britania, a well-known five-member Mexican group that traditionally stages homages to the Beatles and fellow Brit band Queen, using arrangements especially designed for large symphonies.

This is the second time Quinteto Britania has teamed up with the JPO for a Beatles homage.

“Last time we were here the audience was dancing and singing along. We hope the same thing happens again,” says guitarist Marco Antonio Díaz Landa. “The songs are contagious with great melodies.”

Beatles fans will get to hear many of their favorite songs, including “All You Need is Love,” “Michelle,” “Penny Lane,” “Lady Madonna,” “Let It Be,” “Here Comes the Sun” and more.

Tickets cost from 150 to 340 pesos and are available at the theater box office or through Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com.mx or (33) 3818-3800.

Teatro Degollado, Friday, October 4, 8:30 p.m. and Sunday, October 6, 12:30 p.m. 150-340 pesos.
