Da Vinci’s genius on display at Palcco exhibit

The exhibit “Leonardo Da Vinci, 500 Años del Genio”  (Leonardo Da Vinci, 500 Years of Genius), which opened at Guadalajara’s Palcco Cultural Center in March, will remain open through the end of June.

pg20aThe show consists of 28 life-size models of Da Vinci’s inventions, meticulously fashioned by skilled Italian craftsmen, plus three reproductions of his most famous paintings: “Lady with an Ermine,” “The Last Supper” and, of course, “The Mona Lisa.” In addition, the exhibit features around 40 works showing a fascinating selection of Da Vinci’s sketches and studies.

The collection, created by an Italian foundation, first arrived in Mexico last year and set up shop for several months in Queretero. It had previously toured Italy before heading to Croatia, Israel and Lebanon.  After further stops in Mexico, it will tour Brazil next year.

Entry to the exhibit costs 100 pesos for adults, 80 pesos for children.  Opening times: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
