The easiest way to access the 34th edition of Guadalajara’s International Book Fair (FIL) will be via www.fil.com.mx, where you will find links to scores of events scheduled for this year.
Although pared down for 2020, the prestigious fair will nonetheless still feature 300 authors from 38 countries, as well as three Nobel prize winners: Aaron Ciechanover, the Israeli biologist who won the Nobel prize in Chemistry in 2004 for characterizing the method that cells use to degrade and recycle proteins using ubiquitin; Egyptian diplomat Mohamed ElBaradei (Peace) and British-Indian chemist Venki Ramakrishnan (also Chemistry).
Running November 28 to December 6, the FIL will host book presentations by authors such as Salman Rushdie, Juan Villoro, Guillermo Arriaga and Spain’s Arturo Pérez-Reverte.
