The Chihuahua Philharmonic Orchestra is celebrating its 30th anniversary and is currently touring Mexico. Directed by Iván del Prado, the orchestra will perform a special anniversary concert at Guadalajara’s Teatro Degollado on Tuesday, September 24, at 8:30 p.m.
The program includes Dieterich Buxtehude’s Ciacona in E minor, a beautiful Baroque piece; Sheherazade, Op. 35, a symphonic suite by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov based on the Middle Eastern folktales One Thousand and One Nights; and George Gershwin’s Concerto in F for solo piano and orchestra, featuring the renowned Cuban pianist Jorge Luis Prats, known for his virtuosic technique and interpretations.
