State orchestra opens up rehearsals

The Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra (OFJ) is offering the public free access to its final rehearsals ahead of its winter season performances.

Rehearsals are held every Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Degollado Theater in downtown Guadalajara. The OFJ season runs from October 17 to November 28 and includes seven programs, with concerts held on Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. and Sundays at 12:30 p.m. Tickets are very reasonably priced, ranging from 90 to 250 pesos, and can be purchased through boletia.com.mx or at the theater box office.

The first program, on October 17 and 20, will feature works by Alberto Ginastera and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, with harpist Caroline Bembia from the United States as the guest soloist.
