Bravo! Theatre will present a piano concert by Mexican-American pianist and musicologist César Reyes Sunday, September 25, 1:30 p.m.
A leading performer of Mexican and Latin American music in the United States, Reyes grew up in Uruapan, Michoacan, where he developed an early fascination for piano and organ music at a small local academy. In 2001, after graduating from the Mexico City Academy of Music, he went to the United States to continue his studies under the direction of the renowned Cuban-American musical pedagogue Germán Diez, disciple and assistant of the legendary pianist Claudio Arrau. Reyes earned a master’s degree in music and a master of arts at the City University of New York with the support of the Mexican government.
