It is time to reconnect with painter Luci Williams. This celebrated Ajijic artist is making a grand homecoming to Casa del Sol Inn.
Her previous show at the hotel was such a great success that she has been invited to return and the sala will soon be blooming with her kaleidoscope of bright colors and whimsical portraits.
Since we last viewed her work, Luci has participated in expositions in La Manzanilla and at the La Galeria MC (Monica Cardenas) in San Antonio. She has also had the great fortune to show her work at Gallery 1819 in Madrid, Spain. Luci’s work is fast becoming an international commodity as she has also been invited to exhibit in Miami and Milan, Italy. Her work will soon adorn the walls of contemporary waterfront properties in Florida and fashionable flats in Italy.
Says Lucy: “My work will focus more on characters. I identify with their faces and am able to transmit my emotions and feelings through them.”
Her warm palette and coterie of personalities are friendly and relatable. It is easy to associate with her work as you recognize something familiar in each of her unorthodox people. “It is my hope that I transmit my feelings which I express with colors, giving strength to my characters.”
To get acquainted with Luci’s new characters, up close and personal, be sure to visit with her at the Meet the Artist reception on Saturday, January 7, from 4 to 6 p.m. Casa del Sol Inn is located at Javier Mina 7 in Ajijic. If you missed her show last year and want a sneak peek of her work, you can find her on FB and Instagram @luciwilliamsartista.
