Lakeside has a brand new community chorus, “Las Voces del Lago.” The group’s premiere July concert was an overwhelming success, and their future looks very bright.
Las Voces’ singers work hard to transport their audiences through beautiful choral music led by director Ken Turner and accompanied by Don Beaudreau. The chorus will present two major concerts a year, one in December and one in June.
A smaller group of singers, gathered from the large chorus of nearly 60 voices, has also been rehearsing. “Nova Lux” consists of 16 outstanding choral singers who perform a variety of secular and sacred pieces, both accompanied and a cappella. You’ll be able to hear this ensemble at Las Voces’ upcoming holiday show, “Season of Light,” along with the new larger chorus.
Don’t miss the very first LVDL holiday concert, taking place November 30, December 1 and 2, 3 p.m. at the Lakeside Presbyterian Church. Season of Light offers musical delights for everyone, spotlighting Christmas, Hanukkah, and holiday choral music.
