The highly anticipated Northern Lights Music Festival is set to open Sunday, February 9, marking the beginning of 14 extraordinary days of world-class music, masterclasses, special events, intimate soirées and large gala parties.
Now in its 21st season, this prestigious festival has established itself as one of Mexico’s most important cultural events.
This year’s lineup boasts some of the world’s most sought-after musicians, including violinists Kevin Zhu, Nancy Zhou and Grace Park, the internationally acclaimed Gryphon Trio, celebrated pianist David Fung, legendary trumpeter Jens Lindemann, and award-winning jazz vocalist Caity Gyorgy, among many others. A total of 30 musicians will be performing throughout the festival, with all of them arriving this weekend as committee members and volunteers work tirelessly to prepare for their stay.
The festival concerts will take place at various venues throughout Ajijic, including the Auditorio de la Ribera, which hosts the largest performances. Intimate concerts will also be held in stunning private venues such as Haus Der Musik, Festival House, and Moon Estate, among others, offering audiences unique and exclusive musical experiences.
With 140 patrons (series subscribers) and multiple concerts already sold out, the excitement is palpable. Tickets are available online only at nothernlightsmexico.com, with in-person sales closing on Friday, February 7. A limited number of tickets may be available for Auditorio concerts at the door two hours before each event, but attendees are advised to check the website for availability.
