TedxAjijic & the ‘Art of Possibility’

TEDxAjijic makes its debut on Saturday, March 22, at the Centro para la Cultura y las Artes de la Ribera (CCAR) in La Floresta, introducing the Mexican Cancer Tapestry to the community.

pg16aThe Mexican Cancer Tapestry aims to visually represent the stories of a thousand cancer patients, not only showcasing the science behind cancer care and treatment but also highlighting the human experience of battling cancer. It emphasizes the compassion and care provided by medical professionals, as well as the love and support from family, friends, and the wider community.

TEDxAjijic is a locally organized event licensed by TED, which stands for Technology, Entertainment and Design. The theme for TEDxAjijic is “The Art of Possibility.” While the Mexican Cancer Tapestry focuses on humanizing the impact of cancer, other speakers will explore the art of possibility across various fields, including aging, artificial intelligence, computer science, education, extraterrestrial life, humanity, investing, personal growth, philanthropy, and more.

Other speakers include Jesús Cochegrus, Andrew Crummy, Kathleen Durham, David Ellison, Ghela Quartet, Dr. Joshua Greene, Fraer MacLean, Kat Miller, Michael Nuschke, Kat O’Sullivan, Jesús V. López Vega, Barbara Wilson, and Phil Rylett, MC.

Doors open at 1 p.m., with the program beginning at 1:45 p.m. The event will include a short intermission and is expected to conclude by 5:30 p.m., followed by a post-event opportunity to learn more about the Mexican Cancer Tapestry and meet the speakers.

In addition to the talks, the event will feature live music, a local artist exhibition, a preview of the Mexican Cancer Tapestry with Guerreras Rosas, artwork from the LCS Children’s Art Program, and a tequila and wine tasting.

General admission tickets are available for 250 pesos, and VIP tickets for 350 pesos. Tickets can be purchased at bit.ly/tedxajijic or in person at Garden of Dreams Hotel (Constitución 105 in Ajijic) and the LCS (Thursday, 10 a.m. to noon).
