The Chapala Sunrise Rotary Club celebrated its annual Changing of the Button event on July 9, as the organization continues its mission of providing social services and humanitarian aid in the Lakeside region.
The event was emceed by John Gonzales, the club’s first president, who introduced several founding members who joined the club 11 years ago.
Outgoing 2024–25 president Oscar Ibarra highlighted the club’s achievements over the past year: the Dental Project, which treated 102 patients; the Diabetes Project, which assisted 52 patients; the Kidney Project, which has funded eight successful kidney transplants; and the Ojo de Agua sanitation project, which went into operation that same week.
