Fans of mariachi music can expect a rare treat with Al Calor del Mariachi, a marathon of special events coming to the Chapala area for eight straight days starting Sunday, October 19.
The music festival, produced by the renowned Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlán, will feature six free concerts with different mariachi troupes performing at various venues, and other exclusive events.
The program kicks off with a Fiesta Mexicana on Sunday, October 19, 2:30 p.m., at the Lake Chapala Society campus, Calle 16 de Septiembre 16-A in Ajijic. The event includes performances by Mariachi Femenil Nuevo Tecalitlán and the group’s junior band, plus food and drink service and traditional games. Advance tickets are 350 pesos at LCS; admission at the gate will be 400 pesos.
