The Lake Chapala Orchestra (LCO) presents Symphonic Passion, a thrilling concert experience Saturday, January 31, under the baton of Artistic Director Michael Reason.
This inspiring afternoon of music features two monumental works, opening with Jean Sibelius’ Violin Concerto, a piece renowned for its icy beauty, soaring melodies and virtuosic demands. The soloist for this performance is the orchestra’s own Brenda Galvan, principal second violin, who steps into the spotlight to deliver one of the most beloved concertos in the violin repertoire.
The orchestra will also perform Johannes Brahms’s Symphony No. 1, a triumphant masterpiece that Brahms labored over for more than a decade. From its dramatic opening to its heroic finale, the symphony stands as a defining musical achievement and a favorite among audiences worldwide.
