ASA potluck

A quarterly new member event will be combined with the Ajijic Society of the Arts (ASA) summer potluck picnic on Saturday, July 23, noon to 3 p.m.

Artist members, patron members, anyone considering joining ASA — especially new members — are welcome to attend and bring a dish to pass around. ASA will provide grilled chicken sandwiches and non-alcoholic beverages. Attendees should bring their beverages of choice. LLT special event

pg13bConcerts at the Lake presents “My Way” with Nacho Granados to benefit Lakeside Little Theatre, Sunday, July 24, with shows at 3 and 6 p.m. His repertoire includes timeless tunes made famous by Sinatra, Paul Anka, Tom Jones, Tony Bennett, Elvis Presley, Michael Buble, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong and others.

Socialize at the Angel Terrace Bar, open one hour before show time. Following the performance, meet Nacho on the Terrace.

Poetic performance

Gallery MC invites you to a theatrical interpretation by Almira Gongora, with live painting by Alejandra Zuñiga inspired from a letter written by Frida Kahlo to Diego Rivera, Tuesday, July 26, 6 to 9 p.m. at the gallery on the plaza in San Antonio Tlayacapan.

MR Q at La Bodega

The Quintana brothers—Fernando, Carlos, German and Hector—have been playing rock together for more than 40 years. Although they have each had notable music careers apart from the family band, they still enjoy the same passion playing together. They perform at La Bodega, Thursday, July 28, 6 p.m.

Lakeside Little Theatre presents The Mark Boyer 10 Minute Play Festival, Thursday and Friday, August 4 and 5, 7:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, August 5 to 7, 4 p.m.

Seven local playwrights will compete in the festival. The fare is varied and interesting. Following is a list of the plays, the playwrights and the directors:

• “The Pitch” by Ken Yakiwchuk and directed by Frank Lynch

• “Estoy Enfermo” by Ed Tasca and directed by Maloy Murdock

• “Borderline” by Randy Warren and directed by Maloy Murdock

• “I Wish” by Louise Ritchie and directed by Frank Lynch

• “To Err is Human” by John Ward and directed by Graham Miller

• “Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead!” by Susan Miller and directed by Lila Wells

• “New on the Streets” by Patricia Guy and directed by Kathleen Morris

Cast in the seven plays are: Inti Feelmaker, Collette Clavadetscher, Mark Donaldson, Barbara Pruitt, Steve Parker, Kathleen Morris, Nico Cumplido, Maxanne Swanson, Jennifer VanDunsten, Chris L’Ecluse, Lila Wells, Kristine Leigh and Jeremiah Swanson .
