• Members of the Joven Ballet HH together with students from municipal dance schools in Guadalajara and La Escuela de Danza de la Ribera present a 90-minute program of classic and contemporary dance at the Centro para la Cultura y las Artes de la Ribera (CCAR) Saturday, June 29, 5 p.m.. Sunday, June 30, 6 p.m., CCA will feature a Mexican folk song concert by members of the Manuel González Serrano Cultural Center of Lagos de Moreno on the forecourt of the CCA. If it should rain, the concert will be held inside.

Until July 3 on the first floor: art by Chipo Gutiérrez; 2nd floor: art by the late Juan Navarro. 

On Friday, July 5, 5 p.m., you can attend the opening cocktail of an exhibition of ceramics by Carlos Torres, titled “Archaeology of the Occidente,” on the 2nd floor gallery.

Sunday, July 7, noon, the opening cocktail of an exhibition of paintings by Igual-es Arte, an association of young people with learning disabilities, will be held on the first floor gallery. The artists will be on hand from 10 a.m. with a sale of souvenirs made by themselves at the entrance of the cultural center. 

Chapala Exhibit

pg13cJuly 2, 6 p.m., the Galeria Miguel Miramontes in the Antiqua Presidencia Centro Cultural in Chapala will hold an opening for an exhibition of photography by Momo 4 Design.

The same artist, Maureen (Momo) Brown, will exhibit her drawings, paintings and 3D pieces in the upstairs cafe/gallery Inspira, calle Juarez 575 B in Chapala with an opening Saturday, July 6, 5 p.m.

US and Canada themes

Saturday, June 29, Traficantes Rock’n’Latin plays a Canada Day celebration at Scallion Bistro, 7 p.m.

Thursday, July 4, the Gary Lanz Band plays at 4 Sentido, 4:30 p.m.

Renee Diaz and Raul Alfonso perform at Manix II, July 4, 3 to 6 p.m. The hamburger and hot dog buffet goes from 1 to 7 p.m.
