BRAVO!

BRAVO! Theatre hosts its Ten-Minute Play Festival, featuring a full spectrum of storytelling—from start to finish—in just 10 minutes per play.

The program includes nine plays, featuring six directors and 14 actors, blending seasoned Lakeside veterans with some new faces. Show dates and times are: Fridays to Sundays: February 7–9 and February 14–16. Friday performances are at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday shows at 4 p.m.

Ignacio Osuna will exhibit recent work at Galeria Di Paola, Colon 11 in Ajijic. An opening cocktail is Friday, February 7, noon to 6 p.m.

• The 2025 Art Walkers Mexicanísimo program will take place on Friday and Saturday, February 7 and 8, offering the opportunity to explore and acquire diverse works by 28 talented lakeside artists. The event spans 16 venues in Ajijic and one in San Antonio Tlayacapan, with exhibit hours from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.

Purchase the 50-peso admission ticket, full-color fold-out flyer, which includes a map and QR code detailing all sites and their respective exhibitors, from any participating venue. The map is also available on the Art Walkers Mexicanísimo Facebook page and at artwalkers2025.blogspot.com.

• The 2nd annual Artful Codgers Art Show opens at the Centro Cultural Ajijic (CCA), Saturday, February 8, 4 to 6:30 p.m. All the art is produced by local and snowbird artists over 60 years old. Proceeds benefit the CCA Children’s Art Program.

• Agave to Lavender: Travels en Plein Air by Cynthia du Bois is on at the Ajijic Museo de Arte through February 14.

• Territorios de Ave Fauna, an exhibit by Maria Vargas opens at the Centro para la Cultura y las Artes de la Ribera, Saturday, February 15, 6 p.m.

Galería MóCá hosts an exhibition featuring works by painter Mirtes Zwierzynski and ceramicist Elena Aguirre Sznajder. The gallery is located on the main square in San Antonio Tlayacapan.

• The exhibit “Mi Mexico Interno,” by artist Franco is up at 360XQMX, Constitucion 98 in Ajijic.

• A retrospective of works by Rita Ramirez Saucedo is up at the Centro Cultural Antigua Presidencia in Chapala.

Jill Flyer is teaching two photography courses using cell phones at the Centro Cultural Ajijic: Portraiture and Composition. The Portraiture Course starts Wednesday, February 12, at 10 a.m. (third floor, CCA). The Composition Course starts Friday, February 14, at 10 a.m. (same location) Each course consists of four one-hour sessions held weekly. Lakeside Little Theatre will present the musical, “Man of La  Mancha,” February 21 through March 4.

Set in the context of the Spanish Inquisition, “Man of La Mancha” is presented as a play-within-a-play, with Miguel de Cervantes in prison, awaiting trial by the Inquisition. Cervantes proposes a trial in which he proves the merit of his manuscript through a reenactment, enlisting fellow prisoners as characters in his play.

The original 1965 Broadway production ran for 2,328 performances. Written by Dale Wasserman with music by Mitch Leigh and lyrics by Joe Darion, LLT’s production is directed by Dave McIntosh and Ann Swiston. Tickets, 500 pesos, available from the LLT website.
