A live painting presentation by Ricardo Sánchez Corona will be held Saturday, January 31, 3 to 7 p.m., as part of the Lake Chapala Fine Artists Guild’s group exhibition at the Sol y Luna Hotel Spa, Rio Bravo 10.

Exhibits

• The Centro Cultural Ajijic will host a dual exhibition opening with a cocktail inauguration on Saturday, February 7, from 3-7 p.m. The ground floor will feature a collective show of works by expat and local artists, including alumni of the Neill James Children’s Art Program (established 1954). Meanwhile, the second floor will present “Sincretismo Mágico,” a solo exhibition by artist Jesús V. López Vega.

• Tickets are now on sale for the third annual Art Walkers Carnival, running Friday to Sunday, February 6 to 8, in Ajijic, San Antonio and San Juan Cosala. Eighty-two artists will be displaying their works at 42 locations.

The ticket/map, 50 pesos,  covering all three days, is available at Art Connection, Independencia 153D in San Antonio, Huizache Gallery, 16 de Septiembre 22 in Ajijic, Axixic Art Gallery, Ocampo 200 in West Ajijic and Voz al Viento (Isidro Xilonzochitl’s gallery), Porfirio Diaz 120 in San Juan Cosala. • A retrospective show of the 50 years of work of artist Pat Apt is up at the Ajijic Museo de Arte, Privada Flores Magon 3, in West Ajijic.

• The Artful Codgeers and Dodgers Art Show is still up at the Ajijic Cultural Center, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Monday, February 2. Thirty percent of all art sales benefit the center’s programs.

Opera

Lakeside Little Theatre (LLT) screens the MET production of “I Puritani,” Monday, February 2, 4 p.m. in the McIntosh Auditorium. The opera is sung in Italian and presented with English subtitles. Tickets, 350 pesos, are available at lakesidelittletheatre.com or the LLT box office before the performance.

• The Dueto Morarte, featuring Leonardo Mora on violin and Roberto Mora on piano, presents a powerful performance of classical masterpieces and iconic cinema themes, blending technical virtuosity with deep emotional resonance. Listen to Béla Bartók and the legendary Mexican composer Higinio Ruvalcaba, as well as the moving scores of John Williams and Astor Piazzolla.
