Popular lakeside crooner Mac Morrison recently had open-heart surgery. A Go-Fund-Me page has been opened to help with the $US40,000 hospital bill.
Classical guitar
Luis Angel Medina gives a guitar recital at the Centro Cultural Gonzalez Gallo, Friday, August 31, 7 p.m. He will play classical pieces by some of the great guitar masters, including L. Brouwer, Sainz de la Maza, Sor, Piazzolla and Castelnuovo-Tedesco. Entrance is 100 pesos.
Naked Stage
The Naked Stage Readers’ Theatre will present two one-act plays Friday to Sunday, August 24-26. Johan Dirkes, Fred Koesling and Jayme Littlejohn appear in “The Proposal” by Anton Chekhov, directed by Randy Warren; while Johanna Labadie and Ken Yakiwchuk appear in “The Exquisite Hour” by Stewart Lemoine, directed by Jean Llewellyn.

Children’s Art Sale
Saturday, August 4, the Lake Chapala Society (LCS) holds its Children’s Art Sale 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a portion of the proceeds going to the artist and the remainder to support the program. All of the art was created during the summer art camp that ended August 3.
