Guadalajara ballet star Isaac Hernandez has picked up one of the most prestigious awards the dance genre has to offer: the Prix Benois de la Danse.
There’s a compelling, pleasingly profane exhibit running for two more weeks at the Museo de las Artes (the University of Guadalajara’s modern art museum), featuring a generous pirate’s booty of collaborative canvases authored by veteran Mexican artists Juan Carlos Macias and Victor Hugo Perez, two men with wildly contrasting aesthetics.
Romeo & Juliet
The Ballet de Jalisco, the state´s only professional classical troupe, presents this famous ballet composed by Sergei Prokofiev based on William Shakespeare’s acclaimed play.
This year, the Jalisco Jazz Festival didn’t crank out its customary closing concert, which like last year’s would have been held in a cavernous event space on the penthouse suite of a building in the Plaza Andares mall complex in Zapopan.
