Now, you can get synthetic turf—thatches of fake grass to provide a lush look and soft touch like natural grass to your garden or lawn.
I was recently strolling along Chapala’s malecon and noticed it laid down in various stretches. According to Houzz, a landscaping company in Chapala, fake grass is a practical alternative to God’s grass invented thousands of years ago before football stadiums. It won’t rip, wear or mildew, and has a lifespan up to 15 years. What it might look like after 15 years? Don’t know. But I don’t want to think about how to recycle vast carpets of plastic lawn. I’m still trying to figure out how to recycle margarine containers.
Anyway, I tried out Chapala’s new synthetic greenery, jogging a bit and watching the kids tumble around in it. It’s as good and cushy as real grass. And it never needs mowing. Freeing up more time to let your muscles atrophy.
