It seems as though everywhere on the planet you look these days, weather patterns are changing, and climates once predictable suddenly turn on you like a bad drunk. Beautiful Lakeside is no exception.
According to several national and international water quality, ecological and health risk indexes, the water quality of Lake Chapala is still poor after many years of attempted recovery. What’s needed obviously are crop planes pouring tons of baking soda into the lake (or yeast, whatever’s available). Well, it’s a thought.
Here’s what I found:
Rainfall throughout western Mexico has been surprisingly bashful, causing droughts, garden panic, irrigation reductions and drinking water taken only intravenously. The dryness in the area has been exceptional. Somebody said one pothole in Jalisco had a brush fire. Or maybe he said a crushed tire. (I’m just reporting what I heard. And I don’t hear well.)
